Webinar

What's a Webinar you ask? Beats me but it look like I'm doing one this Thursday nite.
Wait, it's sold out?! Oh man, people are expecting something good now.
All kidding aside, should be a good night. My co-worker, Victor Navone and myself have put together so much info and movies, that Animation Mentor is worried we are going to go over the hour time limit. Psst, dont tell 'em but we are DEFINETLY going over that hour ;)

Field Trip

Today the Pixar animators got a field trip to The Walt Disney Family Museum. Honestly, I am a huge Disney fan but I wasn't expecting much from the museum. A few photos of Walt, awards, maybe a pencil he used - I figured that would be it. Boy was I wrong. There is so much art and history in that building. I learned about a struggling artist, a daydreamer, a visionary, someone who believed so much in themself when no one else did. I wish I could share it all with you here on this website. Hopefully these few pics below and my words will be enough for you to go visit whenever your in S.F.
We all met at the Presidio in SF, where our manager handed out a ticket to each of us

The building is pretty bland on the outside, but oh what wonders that lie within!

This way to Walt's life

Inside 'No Pictures' signs are everywhere. The only picture I took without security noticing was one of the floor.

Ken meets Barbie - A Toy Side Story

This week, Ken meets Barbie clip from Toy Story 3 was released.
Above is my four shots. When I was assigned these shots, I was incredibly nervous. I mean the title alone Ken Meets Barbie, sends a shiver of panic up my spine. Two soulmates meeting for the 1st time, and it was all entirely in my hands. Luckily alot of the hard work was already done for me. Animator Angus MacLane is the Ken lead on this film. He showed me alot of tips on how to animate him - less being more.
Also, rather then sketching or shooting reference, I used this moment from A West Side Story as inspiration.

Thanks Maria, Tony and Angus. Couldnt have done it without ya :)
if your having problems playing both videos, watch one then reload the website

LOTSO

This morning I was asked 'How busy are you?'

Followed was 'Can you draw something for the Pixar Daycare Event' Immediately my mind went racing to all the amazing talented artists here at Pixar. I wanted to scream 'NO WAY!' but lately ive been on this kick, where if I find myself not wanting to do it - then You Must Do It!

Above is my submission - im pretty pleased with it. That is until I go out to the atrium and im surrounded by incredible art by incredible artists.

I'll make sure to post the final product when it all comes together
