The official release of Toy Story 3 trailer came out today. You can view the trailer here at Apple Trailers.
Now that it is out - I can share with you a few of my shots that made the cut. See movie below:
All of my shots were shortened for the trailer. I'm just excited that i'm actually working on this film. My daughter was 1 yr old now when the original came out, now she is entering her 1st year of highschool. I get a lil' sad when I think about Andy and her growing up.
Does this mean her Yellow Telletubby is sad that she doesnt play with her anymore?
Well, 1 more month til Pixar's UP comes out on dvd. Since I wont be able to show you the shots i've done until it hit shelves Nov. 10th, i'll take this time to show you some of my old animation.
On Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who, I was the animation character lead for Vlad the Vulture. I was really excited at the chance of animating a villian. My goal was to scare at least one child. If there was one child to afraid to go to sleep at night because Mom and Dad took them to go see Horton at their local cinema, then I did my job.
After all, im still scared of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
Before a animated film is started, animators do experimental animation to test out the rigs and define the characters in the movie.
These two animation tests were done before the start of Robots.
Clip 1 - A character that was cut from the film. I took a line from Steve Martin in Bowfinger. I wanted to test out the overlapping elements on the character's face such as his eyes and wires on top his head.
Clip 2 - This is the character Lugnut. Im a big John C. Reilly fan (he's a Chicagoan!). I was hoping to persuade the director that he was a good fit for the character by showing him this test. Its a line from Boogie Nights where Reilly is talking to Marky Mark at the pool while making drinks.
It was also a test to see if emotion could be effectively done without any deforming parts.
