Did that just happen?! Now thats its been a few weeks its starting to sink in. I actually met my animation idol Eric Goldberg, I actually spoke in front of 600+.
I remember walking those halls at the L.A. Convention Center back in the nineties when I attended Siggraph. A bag full of demo reels and resumes, hoping to get the call that i've been dreaming of. Lost in a sea of like minded people who had the same lofty goals as me.
It was so surreal being back. After working so hard for these last 14 years, I felt like I could take a moment and exhale. Just enjoy it and take it all in.
To be honest with you, I keep trying write something to describe those 2 days more - but im really at a loss for words. So rather, i'm just going to attach some pics below. Hopefully a few pics is worth a thousand words.
Wow that must have been so amazing,
ReplyDeleteespecially meeting Eric Goldberg!!
Congratz on the whole thing.
It was my first Siggraph and this session was the best, It was so inspiring and so cool.
ReplyDeleteI was burnt out before Siggraph/ AM events, balancing full-time job and doing animation mentor for 2 years now (kicked my butt),
but after those events I got my passion and energy back up and many Thanks to you and to the awesome block buster breakdown panel you were part of,
I'm so pumped to finish my short film, polish my reel, animate & animate & animate until I reach my goals.
THANK YOU Aaron
Congrats on the Siggraph speech, would have been awesome to see all that talent talking about their animation. Ha! was the purple post-it stuck next the word 'tortilla' on purpose, as an homage to your work on ts3??
